The Dallas Bakes blog took a brief hiatus, but the bakers have been busy! The next few posts will catch you up on our Spring and Summer projects.
In April, we decorated lace initials for a cousin’s bridal luncheon. Our detailed lace pattern is one of our favorite designs (even though it’s the most time consuming!) The background is a pale blush pink with white piped lace, and these sweet A’s were individually packaged as favors for the bride, bridesmaids, and close family. We loved being a part of this special day!
We hosted a baby shower for our cousin a few weeks ago. One of my favorite baby shower cookies are these little elephants that we’ve created, and that inspired the theme of the party – baby elephants everywhere! We also wanted to have a cake as a centerpiece to match the elephants. The cake was a four-layer dark chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream on the outside. We created the ombre effect by applying each color layer and then blending them gradually. The elephant cookies were on display next to the guestbook (we had a cute little Dr. Seuss book everybody signed), as favors for people to take on their way out.
